DAYTONA STATS: In 12 starts in the Nationwide Series at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, Kevin Harvick has one win, 10 top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. He has finished eighth or better in every race but one and has completed 100 percent of all possible 1369 laps attempted at the track, and has led 171 laps.
The two-time Nationwide Series champion won the 2007 Daytona 500 to complete his first ever weekend “sweep†at a superspeedway. Harvick’s Nationwide Series win that weekend was his first career superspeedway victory.
IN THE LOOP: According to NASCAR’s “loop data†statistics for drivers in the Nationwide Series based on the results of the last three races at Daytona International Speedway, Harvick has the third highest driver at 109.1. He is also ranked second for green flag passes with 744 passes, second for laps in the top-15 (602 laps for 76.3 percent) and second for highest speed in traffic (182.728 mph) during green flag conditions.
BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER KEVIN HARVICK: What is different at Daytona during the July races compared to the races in February? “The track gets hot and slick during the races in July and the handling characteristics become exaggerated a lot more. We are shooting for a good-handling race car, which can hopefully help put this Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Chevrolet into victory lane. “
Is restrictor plate racing more mental than physical? “I have always liked the bigger tracks. For me, it’s way more mental than physical. You’re worn out by the end of the race. You spend a lot of time looking in the mirrors anticipating the other guy’s next move.â€
HONORING OUR TROOPS ON AMERICA’S DAY: As American’s celebrate Independence Day, VFW will be honoring our troops at Daytona International Speedway with hospitality, tickets to the race and hosting members of the military who have earned Purple Heart status. VFW has also partnered with the track to include VFW members in the pre-race activities.
KHI And VFW “Band†Together To Support Our Troops: To show support for America’s Armed Forces, members of KHI’s teams have been wearing red bracelets provided by VFW. The bracelet has the phrase “I Support Our Troops†along with “VFW†inscribed onto it. To join the millions of Americans who are “banding together†in a show of unity to support our troops or to learn more about the “America Bands Together†campaign, visit www.vfw.org.
CHASSIS HISTORY: This week the No. 33 team will unload chassis No. 043 for the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway. This is a brand new chassis and will be making its race debut this weekend.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Kevin Harvick and the No. 33 team scored their sixth top-five finish of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after starting the race from the fifth position. Having maintained his position in the top five for the majority of the race, the decision to take two tires during the last caution of the race proved to be the right move. Harvick restarted the race fourth and held his position until the checker-flag waved.
About VFW: Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United State) is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the sacrifice and ensuring the rights of America’s veterans through advocacy, support and community service, while promoting patriotism. The VFW offers a wide array of services to support veterans and their families throughout their military career, from active duty to honorably discharged. MILLINGTON, Tenn. (June 30, 2008) – Ron Hornaday and the Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet Silverado team scored their third victory of the 2008 NASCAR Truck Series season on Saturday night, June 28, in the O’Reilly 200 at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park. Hornaday led 139 of the 204 laps en route to taking over the Truck Series point standings and extending his lead of all-time series wins to 36.
“That was probably the hardest race I have run this year so far,†Hornaday said. “I wanted that trophy really bad and that Elvis trophy is the coolest thing in the world. We were really good in practice and we did a qualifying run and we were terrible. Rick Ren (crew chief) stayed up all night thinking about it and he made some very minor changes but they all worked in the end. You have to race hard and this was a good win for us.â€
Hornaday took the green flag at the start of the race from the third position. Within the first 10 laps of the race, he had gained a spot to second and was working on leader Johnny Benson. By lap 40, he had caught Benson before taking the lead on lap 44. Hornaday led the next 10 laps.
The team made their first pit stop of the night on lap 54. Hornaday came down pit road in the lead for four tires and fuel. With many of the other competitors taking two tires or fuel only, Hornaday restarted from the fifth position on lap 59. He battled through a tight condition and retook the lead on lap 76 from Stacy Compton. By lap 85, Hornaday had built a 25-truck-length lead over Compton and a 40-truck-length lead by lap 88.
The caution came out on lap 123 and Ren called Hornaday down pit road for the final time for tires and fuel. Another solid stop by the No. 33 Camping World team put Hornaday out front for the restart on lap 126.
As the laps wound down and Hornaday had driven away from the field with a commanding lead over second-place Erik Darnell, the caution came out on lap 199 after a multi-truck accident in turn four. NASCAR officials displayed the red flag for nine minutes for the track to be cleared of any remaining debris. The race was restarted on 202, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Hornaday, known as the “Master of Restarts,†immediately pulled away from the field and crossed the finish line on lap 204 for his 36th career NASCAR Truck Series win.
After Saturday night’s race, Hornaday and the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet Silverado team gained three spots to retake the lead in the Truck Series point standings, leading Matt Crafton by 27 points. Dicuss Article

LEADING THE PACK: In seven starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Kevin Harvick has recorded one win and four poles, including top-10 finishes in each race but one. Harvick, the defending race winner, has completed 99.9 percent (1400 of 1401) of laps attempted, led a total of 588 laps, and scored five top-five and six top-10 finishes at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
IN THE LOOP: Harvick holds the number one driver ranking for active drivers in the Nationwide Series based on the results of the last three races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. With a driver rating of 135.0, he leads second place Martin Truex Jr. by 11.7 points (123.3) based on NASCAR’s “loop data†statistics. In addition, Harvick is tied with Denny Hamlin for spending 100 percent of the last three races in the top 15, a total of 601 laps. For laps led, Harvick leads the field, having led 42.6 percent (256 of 601) of the laps within the last three races at the track.
Harvick also has one win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the Sprint Cup Series, a win which he won from the pole and led 196 of 300 laps before crossing the finish line.
BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER KEVIN HARVICK:
What do you like about racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway? “I like this type of track because it’s flat. I started my racing career on flat tracks out west. We’ve always had a fair amount of success here at New Hampshire. The track hasn’t changed a lot and we’ve had a lot of success here in the past, so that always makes it fun to go back to.
What makes racing on a flat track fun? “When it comes to flat tracks like Phoenix and New Hampshire there’s a lot of braking, which makes the racing aspect a lot of fun. It has always been a very tough track to pass, so track position is very important.
Describe one lap around New Hampshire Motor Speedway “The track is very tight, which means forward bite is always an issue. It is a track that is hard to get off the corners and pass. The straight-a-ways are very long, which helps you gain track position. Going into the corners, you use a lot of your brakes, which makes it hard to get the car stopped and turned.
ANOTHER FIRST: When Harvick takes the green flag Saturday, it will mark his first appearance at the track in a Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI)-owned car. With the 2008 season at its mid-point, Harvick continues to seek his first win in a KHI-owned car.
In 2007 Harvick started the Camping World RV Sales 200 presented by RVs.com from the pole, led 166 laps and scored his first win at the 1.058-mile track with Richard Childress Racing (RCR).
CONTINUING TO MAKE A PRESENCE: Following a weekend of race entitlements at The Milwaukee Mile, Camping World will again be the race sponsor for the Nationwide Series event this weekend, as well as the primary sponsor on the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet.
CHASSIS HISTORY: This will mark the third appearance this season for chassis No. 041. Previously this chassis ran at Phoenix International Raceway and most recently at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway. At Phoenix Harvick started from the fifth position before crossing the finish line fourth. He followed that run with a sixth-place start at Richmond, where he led 98 laps on his way to what appeared to be his first win in a KHI-owned car, but a late-caution and varying pit strategies led to a second-place finish.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Cale Gale and the No. 33 KHI Camping World Chevrolet scored a top-15 finish at The Milwaukee Mile after starting from the 20th position. With a fast car throughout the race, Gale consistently stayed around the top-15 before gaining several positions at the end of the night, securing a 12th-place finish. This marks Gale’s second-best finish this season and his fourth race earning Rookie of the Race honors.

Cale Gale No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Camping World RV Rental 250 Race Recap
WEST ALLIS, Wisc. (June 23, 2008) — Cale Gale and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Camping World Chevrolet started the Camping World RV Rental 250 at The Milwaukee Mile from the 20th position and raced to a solid 12th-place finish and his fourth Rookie of the Race honor.
“We had a good car this weekend, said Gale. “It was a brand new car and was fast from the start with practice. It was a great night for the team and I have to thank Wally and the guys for working hard and giving me such a good car. I had a lot of fun tonight.
Starting the race from the 20th position, Gale moved into 12th place by lap 12. Under the first caution on lap 18, Gale radioed crew chief Wally Rogers that the car was “a little loose in turns one and two, but not bad. The team opted to stay out and restarted 11th on lap 23.
Maintaining his place in the top 15 for most of the night, Gale kept his eye on the front of the field as the laps wound down. Following a caution on lap 155 where the team changed four tires and made an air pressure adjustment, Gale radioed Rogers the car was tighter than it had been the entire race. Several laps later on lap 164, Gale made contact with the No. 16 car, bringing out the sixth caution of the night. Pitting on lap 164, the team changed four tires and reversed the air pressure adjustment from the previous stop. With no damage to the car, Gale restarted the race on lap 168 in the 17th position.
With a strong car, Gale again began his move to the front and was able to cross the finish line on lap 250 in the 12th position. Dicuss Article

MILWAUKEE STATS: Cale Gale has one career NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the famous Milwaukee Mile. Gale began the race (June 2007) 28th and gained five positions to finish 23rd.
Earlier this season Gale ran a Hooters Pro Cup Series race at The Milwaukee Mile, crossing the finish line in the third position.
BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER CALE GALE: With so much history associated with The Milwaukee Mile, how special is it when you race on this track? “It means a lot. I’ve grown up watching races at tracks like Milwaukee and now to be here running 250 miles, it’s a pretty neat deal. I mean, the best in racing have won on this track, and here I am today racing on it. To run a track that means so much to this sport and holds so much history is really cool.
Do you expect to improve on your finish of the last two weeks? “Yes. Wally (Rogers, crew chief) and the guys always work hard to give me fast cars and this week will be no different. The past few races we’ve had a little bad luck, but we should be fine at Milwaukee.
MAKING A PRESENCE: This weekend at The Milwaukee Mile Camping World will have a presence like no other. On Friday night, they hold the entitlement for the Camping World RV Sales 200 Truck race. Included in the truck race will be the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Camping World Silverado and the No. 2 KHI Camping World/RVs.com Silverado. Returning Saturday night for the Nationwide Series race, Camping World again holds the title sponsorship for the Camping World RV Rental 250, where Gale will pilot the No. 33 Camping World Monte Carlo.
TURNING THE KEYS OVER: Next week, at New Hampshire International Speedway, Kevin Harvick will return to the driver’s seat of the No. 33 Camping World car. Gale has driven the No. 33 KHI car for the last two races at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway and Kentucky Speedway.
CHASSIS HISTORY: This week the No. 33 KHI Camping World team will unload chassis No. 044 for Gale at The Milwaukee Mile. This is a brand new chassis, making its race debut for the Camping World RV Rental 250.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: At the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway, Gale qualified the No. 33 KHI car in the 12th position. Shortly after the start of the race, Gale began falling back due to an ill-handling car. Fighting a loose-handling car, Gale ran near 20th for most of the night before crossing the finish line 18th.
Race Schedule: Qualifying will be at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and televised on ESPN2 with the race kicking off at 7 airing on ESPN2.

SPARTA, Ky. (June 16, 2008) — Cale Gale and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) RoadLoans.com Chevrolet started the Meijer 300 from the 12th starting position, and ended the night with an 18th-place finish.
“We had a really good car in practice earlier today,†said Gale. “We were fast and thought we would be in contention for a top-10 finish. Unfortunately, something changed with the car and we were just off from the start. It’s frustrating to have such a strong car in practice and then not get the results in the race. We’ll go back to the shop this week, re-evaluate and head to Milwaukee next week looking to rebound.â€
With rain forcing NASCAR to cancel all on-track activities on Friday at Kentucky Speedway, teams were given a practice session on Saturday morning with Gale topping the charts. With high hopes, the team qualified 12th for the start of the Meijer 300.
Taking the green flag, Gale quickly began sliding backwards and informed crew chief Wally Rogers the car was “way too loose.†By lap 20, Gale had fallen to the 20th position and was looking for the crew to tighten the car on the next pit stop.
With the race continuing to run green, teams began making green-flag stops on lap 52. Gale brought the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet down pit road on lap 59, taking on four tires, fuel and adjustments to help with the loose-handling conditions. Once stops cycled through, Gale was in the 24th position, one lap down.
Continuing to battle with the ill-handling car, Gale moved into the 20th position and held the spot for most of the remaining laps. Under caution, contact from the No. 60 car caused the No. 66 car to spin moving Gale up to 19th on the lap 143 restart.
While running in the 19th position, Gale was able to work his way around the No. 47 car, taking over the 18th spot on lap 170 and held the position until he took the checkered flag. Dicuss Article

GALE LEADS NNS "MEIJER 300 PRESENTED BY OREO" PRACTICE
SPARTA, KY. - NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers took to the Kentucky Speedway 1.5-mile tri-oval track for the first time this weekend during a 90-minute morning practice session for tonight’s “Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo.
Cale Gale, who raced to a 13th-place finish in last year’s “Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo, led the session with a 175.336-mph (30.798 seconds) lap in his No. 33 Kevin Harvick, Inc. Chevrolet. Jeremy Clements turned the second-quickest lap at 175.114-mph (30.837 seconds) in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota and Rusty Wallace, Inc., driver David Stremme was third on the speed chart after turning his fastest lap at 174.859-mph (30.882 seconds).
Gale will make his second Nationwide Series start at Kentucky Speedway tonight along with his seventh of the season and 18th of his career. He hopes to continue a solid Kentucky Speedway history that includes a 150-mile, second-place ARCA RE/MAX Series finish in May 2007.
“Our Road Loans Chevrolet Monte Carlo is really good. Wally (Rogers) and the guys prepared a good car. We ended up practice on the top of the board. Hopefully we can repeat what we did this morning in qualifying, run another good lap and see where it puts us for the race.
“This is the same car we ran at Charlotte. They rebuilt it for me. We had a real good run going there and had a mechanical problem toward the end of the race. We brought it back here this weekend and it seems to be running pretty good, the Mobile, Ala., driver said.
Clements is serving as the back-up driver for Kyle Busch, who also is competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Michigan International Speedway at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. Clements has earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes through five ARCA RE/MAX Series starts. He placed a track-best third in a 205-mile event at the track in 2005.
“Every time we came in we made the car better. I think we will have the car ready for Kyle when he's here for the race. I learned that Kyle likes a loose racecar. We got it freed up, but it's still not where it needs to be. I'm just thankful for the opportunity this weekend with the Farm Bureau Insurance and the Joe Gibbs Racing Team," Clements said.
Stremme will look to notch his third top-10 Nationwide Series finish in the Bluegrass State. The South Bend, Ind., wheelman took his personal track-best fourth-place finish in the 2007 “Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.
Qualifying for the “Meijer 300 Presented by Oreo is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start. Carl Edwards holds set the reigning series track record with a 181.287-mph (29.787 seconds) lap on June 19, 2005. The average pole speed from the 2007 and 2006 events at the speedway was 177.399 mph.
“This year they changed the (Nationwide Series) rule package up. They run a spacer plate under the carburetor and it takes about 80 horsepower out. This time at Kentucky, the speeds you’ll probably see will be a little bit slower than last year, but we still use more throttle because of less horsepower, Gale explained.
Rock group Smash Mouth will follow qualifying with a 6:30 p.m. concert on the Turn 1 Concourse and race Honorary Starter and Univ. of Louisville Head Basketball Coach Rick Pitino will send 43 cars racing at 8:45 p.m.
Standing-room-only tickets are available at the speedway main entrance for $40.

KENTUCKY STATS: In one previous Nationwide Series start at Kentucky Speedway, Cale Gale recorded a 13th-place finish. In addition, Gale added a second-place finish in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) series at the track while driving for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI).
BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER CALE GALE:
How does it feel to be returning to Kentucky Speedway for your second Nationwide Series race? “I’m excited to return to Kentucky. Last year I got my best finish of the season here. We’re taking the car I ran in Charlotte, and it was a good car there, but unfortunately we didn’t get the finish we wanted. Hopefully we can go to Kentucky and rebound after Nashville.
This marks your second consecutive race in the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet. Does that add comfort and momentum heading into the Meijer 300? “It definitely helps. We have been running good, but the finishes just haven’t shown it. We had a top-10 car at Nashville, but a loose wheel ended our night. The team gives me great cars every week, and I know this week will be no different. We’ll put Nashville behind us and look to improve this in Kentucky.
PREVIEWING THE MEIJER 300: Gale and fellow Nationwide Series driver Brad Coleman traveled to Kentucky in May to meet with media members and give ride-a-longs around the 1.5-mile track to preview the Meijer 300.
ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO: Kentucky marks the second of three consecutive races for Gale in the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet before returning the wheel to team co-owner Kevin Harvick.
SAFE DRIVING: RoadLoans.com, along with KHI, recently launched a teen safe driving program with rookie driver Gale. On May 7 Gale traveled to Gallatin County High School in Northern Kentucky to share the parallels of his inexperience as a rookie driver on a race track versus the inexperience of teen drivers on the open road. The program shared awareness and safety measurements which should be exercised behind the wheel. With the support of the Kentucky Highway Patrol, Kentucky Speedway and the Gallatin County High School, the event was a success.
“It is hard to believe that the leading cause of death among teenagers is not a disease, but a car, said Gale. “Through the support of RoadLoans and the Kevin Harvick Inc. team, we are able to bring a program like the Teen Safe Driving rallies to various areas with a high potential for teen fatalities due to reckless or careless driving. If we can make the difference for one person at each school, it’s all worth it.
A MILLION THANKS: RoadLoans.com and KHI have partnered with the A Million Thanks Foundation, a letter writing campaign, for the 2008 NASCAR season to collect letters of appreciation for the men and women of the armed forces. Shauna Fleming, the 18-year-old college student who founded the foundation in March 2004, set an initial goal of collecting and distributing one million letters of ‘thank you’ to the troops serving in the U.S. Armed Forces around the world. In October 2004, Fleming reached her goal and presented President George Bush with the one-millionth letter. RoadLoans.com will station drop boxes at all show car appearances throughout race markets this season for fans to write letters and drop into the box. The letter writing campaign kicked off February 23 and runs through November 15, 2008. Please visit www.RoadLoansracing.com for a complete listing of show car events.
CHASSIS HISTORY: This weekend the No. 33 KHI team will unload chassis No. 036 at Kentucky Speedway for the Meijer 300. Previously, this chassis was on track at Lowe’s (N.C) Motor Speedway with Gale behind the wheel. Running in the top 20 most of the night, a hole in the oil pan with only 17 scheduled laps remaining, caused Gale to record a 30th-place finish.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The No. 33 KHI Chevrolet last appeared on track at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway for the Federated Auto Parts 300 with Rookie of the Year contender Cale Gale behind the wheel. Gale started the race from the 12th position and consistently ran in the top 15 all night, running as high as second. Shortly after radioing to crew chief Wally Rogers that he felt a vibration, a loose left-rear tire caused the No. 33 Chevrolet to hit the wall in turn three on lap 143. With significant damage, the team was forced to load the car and call it a night. Gale finished in the 34th position.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 9, 2008) — Cale Gale and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Camping World Chevrolet team started the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway from the 12th position, but a loose wheel ended the night early and left Gale with a 34th-place finish.
“We had a great car tonight, said Gale. “We practiced well and had a good qualifying run. The race was going good. It’s unfortunate that a lose wheel ended our night early. We had a top-10 car, but it’s just unfortunate. But, as a team we will move on to Kentucky and hope to rebound with a solid finish.
At the track where he recorded his career-best Nationwide Series finish (eighth, March 2008), Gale qualified 12th for the Federated Auto Parts 300 and then took over the 10th position by lap 10.
On lap 77, while under caution, the team opted to stay out while many other cars pitted. This placed Gale in second place on the leader board.
Continuing to run second behind eventual winner Brad Keselowski, the caution flag waved on lap 104 and crew chief Wally Rogers asked Gale to describe the car. Gale replied that he was feeling a vibration. Rogers told Gale it was probably the brake rotors, and the team pitted for four tires and fuel. The race was restarted on lap 109 with Gale in the 10th position.
By lap 142, while running 11th, Gale informed Rogers he thought the vibration was much worse than the brake rotors. Unfortunately, the team didn’t get the opportunity to bring Gale down pit road to check for the cause of the problem. On lap 143, a loose left-rear wheel caused Gale to lose control of the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet, hitting the wall in turn three. With significant damage to the car, the team was unable to repair the machine as they recorded a 34th-place finish. Dicuss Article
